Surgery

Yesterday Oliver finally had the surgery that we've been simultaneously dreading and anticipating. The procedure began around 3, was over by 4, and we left the hospital around 5. Cincinnati Children's Hospital was amazing from the time we walked in until the time we left! Oliver was a trooper and did a great job throughout the entire process despite lack of food (he could not eat after 8:30 yesterday morning) and sleep (he only took his morning nap) beforehand and quite a bit of numbness afterward. The surgeon said there was a bit more of a cyst than he thought going in, but is pretty sure he got it all. Only time will tell, but we pray that he's right. Right now the little guy is taking either Tylenol or Ibuprofen every 3 hours and gets Vaseline at the sight of incision each diaper change. He'll go for a post-op appointment in about 3 weeks. We are so blessed to know that he is going be ok and this is most likely taken care of for good. The Lord has answered our, and many friends' and family members', prayers.
