Today was also Oliver's 14-month birthday! He's getting so big so fast! His latest tricks are finding his nose, walking (still with assistance mostly), clapping his hands, beating his belly, washing his hands (with assistance), and throwing things-mostly balls. His speech is picking up, mostly from mimicry. Mostly he's saying "m" and "d" words independently. The "d" ones are the most fun to follow; dad and dog are the most common, though it's hard to tell which is which. Oliver's also a lot more energetic these days! This is partially because he feels better, but I also think it's due to him getting older and more "toddler". He's getting more mischievous and has had to go to "time out" a few times this week. "Time out" is the count of 20 sitting behind the couch with his hands in his lap and he can't move. He does not like it and is learning that it's the consequence to not listening to the word "no." We know he's getting it because "no" is starting to make him cry when he hears it. He's very dependent on his eating and sleeping schedule, which is a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that it keeps him pleasant during the day. The curse is that once 7:00 hits he gets very anxious for his bath and quickly turns to tears. This means we have to be home around 7:00 nightly, which is sometimes quite inconvenient. Though everything is not easy as we raise our dear little boy, we keep hanging in there! We love our little Bobo and can't wait to see how he continues to grow and develop!
