Happy New Year!

On Thursday night Aunt Holly came to visit. Some highlights of her time here include her babysitting for Brent and I to go on a date yesterday and Oliver, Holly, and myself visiting the Conservatory today. On Friday night the Schuurman's stopped by on their way home from Canada. We enjoyed catching up and letting our boys play together. Oliver and Brent slept through New Years while Holly and I stayed up to watch the ball drop.

As the year ends I find myself reflecting on the last one and contemplating what the next one holds.

Overall 2011 was a great year for our family! Extended family highlights include few visits to and from Atlanta for time with Grammy and P-paw, multiple visits from Aunt Amy and Aunt Holly coming to see us, and a few drive-throughs from Uncle Blake for quick dinner visits. Our favorite "family of 3" adventures included multiple days spent hiking and trips to the zoo. Oliver's accomplishments in 2011 included learning to say his first words, taking his first steps, and making his first friends during his first semester of daycare. He's such a big boy now!

We are looking forward to many things during 2012. Oliver will continue on with daycare, which seems to be very enjoyable for him! Brent and I have many goals for the coming year, mostly to keep ourselves healthy physically, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. We hope to take at least one family vacation, take Oliver for his first camping trip, visit family and friends, and enjoy more time at the zoo and hiking. We know many things, expected and unexpected, are to come and can't wait to see what those things include!
