Every October we have a four day weekend. I always look forward to the reprieve it allows from the beginning of school. Since Brent had to go back to work on Monday after our trip to Indiana, that meant this year it was just me and Oliver left to enjoy our last day. We had a blast!
The day started out with Oliver jumping in the bed and begging to cuddle. After our cuddle session with Mr. Giraffe and Mr. Deer, Oliver ate oatmeal while I finished off the pumpkin muffins left over from this weekend for breakfast. Our first activity was to take Wilson for a walk and gather leaves. Once we got home we made leaf prints in Play-Doh. We played downstairs and watched two episodes of Thomas, singing along with the songs at the end. We scooped the insides out of one of the pumpkins we bought in Indiana then carved a face into it. Oliver loved the light of the candle we put in it! Lunch was normal: sandwiches, fruit, and yogurt.
During Oliver's nap I made White Chicken Chili for later in the week and caught up on laundry and some stuff for school then took a short nap of my own. After he woke up we had oatmeal animal cookies and apple juice for a snack. Then we made leaf prints and finger painted before Brent came home. Oliver also helped me make Black Bean Burritos for supper. We finished our day by playing upstairs in the hallway and Oliver's room and giving Oliver his bath. All in all it was a great day!
