3!

On Thursday Oliver turned 3. We had a great weekend of celebrating our little guy!

On Thursday night we opened family presents. He loved everything from the Etch-a-sketch from Grammy and P-paw to the cars from PawPaw and Uncle Bob to the books from Aunt Holly and game that we bought him. The thing with family gifts are that they come at different times since we live far away, so Oliver still has more to come when Aunt Amy comes next weekend then when Nana and Papa come visit later this fall. This makes his birthday last for a long time!

On Friday night we had the Hammons and Honour families over for supper. These are the guys that Oliver played with all summer during our fun outings to the zoo, library and park. The boys had a blast playing everything from trains to bubbles together.

On Saturday Oliver got to enjoy his main present from Brent and me: a ride on a real train. We met the Short family in Labanon for our adventure. Oliver and Everett were not only excited about the train, but loved seeing each other too! Because the Shorts love in Indiana now they also spent the night with us, which allowed the boys to play into Saturday afternoon and again Sunday morning. This family is definitely one of our favorites and we cherish every second we get to spend with them. The boys enjoy many of the same things and are the same size. Since before they were born we adults said they would be best friends. It is definitely the case!

So now Oliver is 3. It's hard to believe that he's already so big and doing so many "kid" things and fewer and fewer "toddler" things. We will continue to enjoy every second of the fun that we have with him as a little fella. I don't want to miss be single moment!
