Stubbornness!

We are learning how stubborn an 11-month-old really can be these days. Oliver has always eaten anything we give him...until the last week or so. I'm not sure if this is because we were feeding it to him and now he is feeding himself. Or maybe he's just being stubborn- which is truly our theory! Anything he does not like he throws on the floor. Some of these items include green beans, corn, and carrots. This is not a big problem at home because Wilson is there to swipe up anything dropped. When we are out it can be quite messy though, which we try to pick up as much as we can.

Our theory of stubbornness was confirmed when we had lunch at Chick-fil-A this afternoon. As corn, carrots, and green beans were hitting the floor we decided to entice the little guy with a blueberry to see what happened. We laid a green bean and a blueberry beside one other on his place mat. Sure enough he grabbed up the blueberry and put it in his mouth. We replaced the blueberry with a carrot. He chose the carrot. Then we put down another carrot. He then chose the green bean and threw it on the ground. The carrot quickly hit the floor next. So we laid down another blueberry, and sure enough, he ate it. No kidding... he knows the difference, and he knows what he likes! Brent and I were trying hard not to laugh, but was quite difficult... watching Oliver was hilarious!

Lastly, I have to throw in some adorable father-son pictures of my boys reading together. Brent had just gotten home from playing Disc-Golf. Even though he was sweaty and tired from playing, he sat down to read with Oliver before doing anything else. Oliver enjoyed the time with his "dadada." Brent is a great dad!
