Our Boy

Today Oliver went to see Dr. Adams for his 2-year well visit. He weighs 30 pounds, which is in the 75th percentile for his age. Height is 37 inches, which is 97th percentile and the average height of a 3-year-old. We are meeting all of the benchmarks developmentally, with upcoming goals to include potty training and taking clothes off and on. He's not interested in either of these! Thumb sucking is not a huge issue at this point though we have a dentist appointment mid-October that will be the true view of whether we need to tackle ridding it head-on yet or not. Vaccines included the flu mist and chicken pox, though there was a list of others that we opted out of until he's 3. As for language development at least 50% of what he says can be understood by strangers and he's putting sentences together regularly. Though I would not consider him a "strong-willed child" he definitely has his moments of stubbornness, including his bath tonight when he stood up the entire time because he was upset about not getting bubbles. He still loves to cuddle, which calms him down most of the time. The conclusion of this is that all in all Oliver is a sweet, healthy, growing boy!
