Best Friend

Oliver's best friend is Everett. They are only 10 weeks apart in age and just recently realized each other exist. Today they went to the zoo together then played at Everett's house. Unfortunately Everett is moving to Indiana soon, but while he still lives here we are making the most of our time.
At the front gate they were ready for what the zoo had for them.

Best friends planning future mischief together!
After not completing their afternoon naps they enjoyed playing blocks together.

Oliver is also up to many other things. His new favorites are doors, door stops, drawers, electrical cords, strings, balls, trucks, and anything that opens and closes. This is good and bad. I love that he's exploring new things and discovering them for himself. It is fun to hear him laugh when he "gets" how something works. On the other hand we have to watch him very closely. Doors, drawers, and electrical cords can be very dangerous! He's smashed his finger twice this week. When we move him away from the danger, after a warning or two of "No!" he yells at the top of his lungs, not understanding why he can't have what he wants. Unfortunately we're finding that he's stubborn, like both of his parents, and having to learn the hard way. Such is life. We'll keep encouraging him in the way he should go and pray that he understands as he understands more and more of what we are teaching him.
His favorite "beach ball". It has two smaller rattle balls in it, which makes it more fun!
Reaching for the door to close it...
I gave him this string to play with. He also loves shoes strings!
Going for the door again...
Who can resist a baby playing in a diaper?
